Simply Beautiful Cheap Wedding Cake Toppers

With money on everyone’s minds lately, it is no small wonder that even brides are scaling back on their weddings. One way to save a few dollars is with a cheap wedding cake topper. There are many ideas out there; here are a few of the best.

If you are having a traditional wedding with both of you choosing a color, perhaps some silk flowers would make a nice touch. You might even go with edible flowers that are available in many grocers year-round. Just choose the flower you prefer in your color and when set upon the top of the cake it will be simply beautiful.

Another idea is to use beautiful silk or satin ribbons in the wedding colors, found at any hobby shop, and tie them together into a large, beautiful bow with long tails running down the sides of the cake. It would symbolize the unity of the newlyweds. Perhaps tie them around a Popsicle stick in order to secure the bow to the cake. Another version would be to have large white roses made of the frosting on top the cake surrounded by small bows in the wedding colors alternating around the top or even small ribbon roses.

A martini or wine glass on the top would give height to the topper and could be filled with floating flowers, colored marbles, round candies, or any combination in the wedding colors with ribbons or silk flowers around the base. A string of pearls glued to the edge of the glass would dress it up nicely.

Often at hobby stores you can find wedding cake topper forms that you can affix beads, flowers or ribbons to. They even have small Styrofoam wreaths you can decorate with just about anything to make a beautiful, yet cheap wedding cake topper.

If you are insistent on locating a bride and groom, stop at the nearest dollar store. They often have bride and groom figurines for just a dollar apiece. You can set these on the cake or glue them to a plastic disc with various flowers for a little traditional color.

No matter which of these cheap wedding cake toppers you choose to use, they shouldn’t cost more than five dollars and will be a wonderful way to celebrate your special day.
